Türkiye and Azerbaijan have signed a “Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cooperation in Livestock and Animal Health” between the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Azerbaijan Ministry of Agriculture.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, Mecnun Memmedov, to discuss future collaborations in the agricultural sector between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
After the signing ceremony, the two ministers made statements to the press. Yumaklı highlighted that Turkey’s experience in agricultural insurance has begun to be implemented in Azerbaijan. He also mentioned ongoing collaborations in land consolidation projects, developing climate-resilient seeds, and ensuring food supply security.
Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Minister Memmedov stated that agricultural cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan continues to develop. He noted that Turkish investors are making investments in Azerbaijan’s agriculture and livestock sectors. Memmedov added that the signed memorandum aims to facilitate livestock activities in Karabakh and East Zangezur, indicating that Turkey’s agricultural experience will be applied in Azerbaijan.
