The property market may be quieter this month, but there are still opportunities available in the form of bare land blocks and residential farms.
Bidwells has recently introduced Grange Farm, a 231-acre property primarily consisting of arable land with a Dutch barn, located near Stretham in the fertile Cambridgeshire Fens. The current owners have been managing the farm since 1997, focusing on improvements such as drainage on the Grade 2 land. The land supports a variety of crops, including cereals, root crops, and grassland, with a water abstraction license for high-value root crop production. Additionally, there are environmental mixes and permanent pasture areas, as well as a Countryside Stewardship agreement in place.
The farm is strategically located adjacent to the A10 and is on the market for £2.45m. In addition to Grange Farm, two residential farms have also been listed for sale. Carter Jonas is offering 112 acres of land and a three-bedroom house at The Lodge, Hazlecote Farm near Tetbury for £3m. The Grade 3 land has been used for arable crops and the house has potential for further development.
Another property, Springwell Farm in County Durham, is a 106-acre holding with modern facilities for livestock and horses. The four-bedroom house features an indoor swimming pool, landscaped gardens, and a separate two-bedroom cottage with offices. The property is listed for £2.995m.
For those interested in grassland farms, McCartneys is conducting a public auction for Coedtrewernau in Llandrindod Wells, Wales. The property, which includes a bungalow, modern buildings, and off-lying land, is being sold in four lots totaling 114 acres. The auction will take place on 28th November 2024.
Overall, despite a quieter market, there are still attractive opportunities available for those looking to invest in farmland.
