The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry reveals companies that produce counterfeit and health-hazardous foods daily. Following inspections of meat and meat products, 135 brands have been identified for engaging in imitation and adulteration. Deceptive practices were discovered, such as mixing chicken meat into ground beef, using offal in kebabs, and including mechanically separated poultry meat and equine meat in heat-processed products. A notable case occurred with Atabey Gıda, a company in Mersin, where chicken meat was detected in heat-processed beef sausage. Similarly, Antakya Peynircilik used poultry meat in lamb meat minces, while Dörtyol Kasabı was found to have equine meat in red meat. These examples demonstrate the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s commitment to protecting public health by informing citizens about companies producing fraudulent products.
