Erhan Adem emphasized that cost is a crucial factor in hazelnut production. He stated that the cost of one kilogram of hazelnuts is 117.46 Turkish lira, noting that producers expect prices that can cover these costs. Adem expressed that, as a result of the efforts of agricultural chambers, they are demanding a minimum base price of 160 lira for hazelnuts, which includes a welfare margin added to the cost. He pointed out that hazelnut producers are suffering losses due to rising costs and stressed that price determination should take these costs into account. According to Adem, the hazelnut base price should be 160.93 lira without considering inflation and 180 lira when inflation is taken into account.

Adem accused foreign companies of exploiting the labor of hazelnut producers and highlighted that these producers are in a difficult position due to increasing costs and low prices. He called on the government to take the necessary steps to ensure that producers receive the value they deserve.
