The geographical indication of the Mut apricot, known for its microclimate characteristics, was harvested in the open air. The Mut apricot is recognized for its color, fragrance, and appearance and is exported to Russia, the Middle East, India, and Europe. The president of the Mut Agricultural Chamber, Muharrem Yılmaz, stated that 712,000 decares of agricultural land in the district produce table apricots on 77,800 decares. Yılmaz noted that the apricot production decreased from 350,000 tons last year to 200,000 tons this year, expressing concerns about farmers’ declining profits due to falling prices.
