MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY ANNOUNCES NEW SUPPORT MODEL
The Presidential decision regarding plant production supports and other agricultural aids to be implemented between 2025-2027 has been published in the Official Gazette.
According to the Ministry’s announcement;
“This time, plant production supports were announced with a 3-year planning and in advance of the production period. Support items have been simplified, and all producers registered with the crop declaration system (ÇKS) will receive support,” it was stated.
“With this regulation, farmers will know how much support they will receive for which crop and in which region before starting production. This will guide our farmers towards planned production and help prevent issues arising from unplanned production.”
According to the information stated in the Presidential Decree;
A new plant production support model is being implemented. For the first time, a 3-year support program covering the years 2025-2027 has been created. Agricultural supports will now be announced before the production period and will be simplified. Information will be provided for all ÇKS-registered producers eligible for support.
This application aims to increase efficiency and quality, ensure the sustainability of food supply security, and adopt environmentally friendly agricultural policies. It is intended to protect producers against unfavorable situations such as rising costs.
With the new support program, farmers will receive basic support, planned production support, and production development support.
BASIC SUPPORT
Products are categorized based on production costs. For the year 2025, the support coefficient per decare is determined to be 244 lira. The basic support will cover 50% of farmers’ fuel costs and 25% of fertilizer costs.
Farmers producing barley and wheat are to receive basic support of 317.2 lira per decare.
PLANNED PRODUCTION SUPPORT
The Agricultural Production Planning Board includes barley, safflower, sunflower (oilseed), wheat, rapeseed (canola), dry beans, lentils, corn (grain), chickpeas, cotton (lint), potatoes, onions (dry), soybeans, and feed crops in the planned production.
Farmers producing these products within the planning framework will receive additional support beyond the basic support. This support will cover 100% of fuel costs and 50% of fertilizer costs. For example, support for wheat and barley will increase from 185 TL to 634 TL, from 158 TL to 488 TL for chickpeas and lentils, and from 206 TL to 732 TL for oilseeds sunflower.
PRODUCTION DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
To increase yield and quality, support will be offered based on criteria such as the use of certified seeds and seedlings, organic farming, and good agricultural practices. Additionally, for products stored in licensed warehouses, a rental support amounting to 75% of the rental tariff determined by the Ministry of Commerce will be provided.
