Karacabey Yeşildere Dam construction has been completed, and the water retention process has been carried out. With 16 million cubic meters of water stored in the dam, 38,850 decares of agricultural land will be irrigated. Once the Irrigation project is completed, it is expected to contribute 295 million TL annually to the national economy.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, emphasized the importance of completing the Yeşildere Dam and executing the water retention process. He noted that the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) is working on modern Irrigation projects to maximize the benefits of agricultural lands.

The stored water in the Yeşildere Dam will provide life-giving water to local agricultural fields and expand the range of agricultural products. An increase in income per decare is expected by 2024. Minister Yumaklı explained that they are increasing water storage capacity in light of global warming and water imbalances, ensuring that the country is minimally affected by drought.

The Yeşildere Dam has been constructed using rock-fill techniques and will serve as a significant water source for the region.
