Lightning Strikes Over Barley Harvest: Photo of the Week
Last week, a significant portion of the country experienced intense lightning and thunderstorms followed by heavy monsoon-like rainfall. One such spectacular moment was captured by Johnathon Day at Grickstone Farm in the Cotswolds. Amidst the spring barley harvest, as they hurried to finish cutting the last block before the rain, Day managed to photograph a striking bolt of lightning illuminating the sky. The farm’s harvest this year mirrored many others, with some pleasant surprises but also expectedly poor yields. Despite sporadic rain interruptions, the harvest progress has been steady, embodying the quintessential British harvest tale.
