Lighter, Simpler, and Cheaper Four-Rotor Rake from Pottinger

Pottinger has introduced a new, simpler four-rotor grass rake, the Top VT 12540 C, designed for farmers and smaller-scale contractors looking for a wide working width of up to 12.5m at a lower price point. Priced at £76,747, this model offers a more basic specification without features like isobus electronics and load-sensing hydraulics.

The Top VT 12540 C measures 9.6m in length and weighs 5,200kg, making it more compact and lighter than its predecessor. It features conventional rotor mounting arms with hydraulic telescopic sections for adjusting the working width from 10m to 12.5m. The machine also has 12 tine arms at the front and 13 at the rear, compared to 13 tine arms all around on the higher-spec model.

Both machines have 3.3m-diameter rotors with cam tine control and Pottinger’s Toptech Plus gimbal-mounted rotor design for improved surface-following on undulating terrain. The Top VT 12540 C comes with a standard four-wheel rotor chassis, with an optional five-wheel version available. It also offers the option of adding Pottinger’s Multitast castor wheel for enhanced performance.

Overall, the new Pottinger four-rotor grass rake provides a cost-effective and efficient solution for farmers and contractors in need of a wide working width without the advanced features of higher-end models.
