Konya and Aksaray: Set to Become Cairo in the Eyes of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ebubekir Gizligider, visited Aksaray to hold meetings on ‘Agricultural Production Planning and New Support Model’. Speaking at the meeting held at the Aksaray Agricultural Chamber, Gizligider provided information about Turkey’s challenges in agriculture and water management.

Gizligider emphasized that there is a significant water scarcity issue nationwide, stating that by 2030, Turkey’s water quota could fall below a thousand, potentially turning the country into a water-scarce nation. He highlighted the decreasing water resources and the strategic importance of water, indicating that Turkey’s population is expected to reach 105 million by 2050, necessitating a substantial increase in food production to meet this demand. He stressed the importance of utilizing water efficiently.
