Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has announced that treated wastewater from the Korkuteli Wastewater Treatment Plant has been allocated to irrigate 2,000 decares of land in Beğiş Plain. The water, after undergoing advanced treatment for agricultural Irrigation purposes, was transported to Beğiş Susuzu Plain via a pipeline. Hüseyin Yalçın, the Mukhtar of Beğiş Susuzu Neighborhood, stated that for years, the area experienced dry farming due to water scarcity, but now the availability of water has brought abundance to the plain, allowing farmers to start cultivating various crops.

Fatma Eyiler, an agricultural engineer from the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department, emphasized the significance of reusing treated water in agriculture and mentioned that Irrigation has been successfully implemented on 2,000 decares of land. To facilitate easier Irrigation for farmers, valves have been installed, enabling the cultivation of a variety of fruits and vegetables. With the introduction of water, gardens are now being irrigated using sprinkler and drip Irrigation systems, and greenhouse farming is also becoming possible.
