The Ministry of Agriculture has launched the “Agricultural Land Use Optimization Project” in our Çeltik district, implementing the “Healthy Oil with Canola Project.” As part of this initiative, canola seed distribution has been carried out. The program was attended by Provincial Director Duran SEÇEN, Çeltik District Governor İbrahim PELİT, Çeltik Mayor Ali MEŞE, and other officials. The total budget for the project is 2 million TL, with half of it funded by the Ministry.
In our province, 2023 has seen 55,498 decares of land producing 27,708 tons of canola, placing us at the top in the country. Specifically, Çeltik district leads with canola production on 29,500 decares, yielding 16,092 tons. Considering this potential, canola cultivation has been supported on a total of 7,520 decares.
As part of the project, 376 bags of certified canola seeds have been distributed to farmers to support their production efforts. We hope for the success of this project and believe it will contribute positively to our country’s agriculture. We wish all farmers a bountiful and prosperous growing season.
