Did you know that the agricultural sector is the highest consumer of water? Smart Irrigation systems developed for water conservation provide plants with the exact amount of water they need, maximizing both water use and agricultural productivity.

Fatma Aktaş, co-founder of E-Sular, emphasizes that they are working on advanced technological solutions for the Sustainability of agriculture, which benefit farmers in Turkey and Azerbaijan. Water usage data highlights the importance of digital agriculture while also pointing out the risk of Turkey becoming a water-scarce country.

The amount of water spent in Turkish agriculture annually is alarming. Incorrect Irrigation practices lead to the wastage of 25 billion cubic meters of water, equivalent to the amount consumed in industry and households over a year and a half.

Aktaş highlights the significant advantages that AI-supported smart Irrigation systems offer to farmers, stating that these systems can achieve water and energy savings. With these systems, farmers can optimize water usage and make data-driven decisions to conserve resources.

Aktaş notes that these systems can provide a yield increase of about 30% to 60%, playing a crucial role in agriculture. Smart Irrigation sensors ensure that water is used efficiently and accurately, while a mobile application allows for remote control of these sensors.

Farmer Gürcan Balcı shares that he aims to minimize water consumption on the land where he utilizes an AI-supported Irrigation system, providing plants with the necessary amount of water while considering next year’s water needs. He describes the mobile application as user-friendly and practical, as it enables him to control valves, pumps, and other equipment with a single touch.

Thanks to smart Irrigation systems, farmers saving water and energy are becoming an essential part of sustainable agriculture by increasing their productivity.
