The TMO Temporary Procurement Center in Bayburt began grain purchases on Thursday, August 8. Farmers are bringing their barley and wheat to the center using trailers. The team leader reported that they have received more than 2,500 tons of product so far, and purchases will continue.
The team chief noted that products not meeting procurement criteria are not accepted, but they generally accept all types of grains. On average, 80-90 farmers are delivering products to the center daily, and it has been observed that sometimes a single farmer transports products using seven tractors and eleven trailers.
The price per ton of barley is between 7,250 and 7,300 Turkish Lira, while wheat ranges from 8,000 to 8,700 Turkish Lira. Furthermore, there are support premiums and incentive payments of 1,750 Lira for wheat and 750 Lira for barley per ton.
