The Scorpio is the pioneering vegetable box filler introduced by Belgian company AVR, showcasing features such as automatic control and a remarkable capacity of up to 75 tons or 60 boxes per hour.

This innovative machine includes sensors and indicator lights that help ensure that empty boxes are precisely placed for filling. Belt height and fill level sensors activate the traversing belt conveyor, maintaining an optimal delivery height to minimize bruising risk.

In addition, the Scorpio is equipped with overhead flaps designed to prevent potatoes from rolling off the smooth belt, enhancing its damage prevention capabilities. The electric drum motor, with a small diameter situated at both ends of the belt, guarantees consistent traction in either direction.

Integration with Conveyors

The device features a 7-inch touchscreen display alongside buttons on the electrical control box, allowing for straightforward setup. With the installation of AVR’s Line Control software, the box filler can connect seamlessly to conveyors and other components in the crop handling system.

This smart integration halts the entire line when boxes reach full capacity, preventing spillage, and automatically resumes operation once the filling belt is appropriately positioned above an empty box.

Moreover, during the transition from a full box to an empty one, the filler buffers the product to ensure that the overall line capacity remains unaffected.

The Scorpio is adaptable to various box sizes and specifications, thanks to its adjustable frame and positioning. AVR offers additional options, including infinite adjustment of the feed belt to align perfectly with the rest of the operation, power outlets with switches, LED work lights, and an auxiliary supply belt for enhanced buffering capacity.

Starting at £26,900, the Scorpio occupies a footprint of at least 6.33 x 2.61 meters and stands 3.48 meters tall.
