Introducing Horizon’s 9m Working Width DSX No-Till Disc Drill

Horizon Agricultural Machinery has expanded its DSX no-till disc drill range with a larger chassis that can accommodate working widths of up to 9m. The drills offer various row spacings, including 16.7cm, 18.7cm, 20cm, and 25cm, and come with a clamping toolbar for customizable setups.

Users have the flexibility to sow with all coulters, alternate rows for double spacing, or plant two different products in alternating rows. The modular format of the wings allows for easy expansion if needed.

Each wing of the drill incorporates 5 degrees of positive and negative float, along with parallel linkage on each DSX row unit, to ensure precise seeding depth across the entire wingspan. Pneumatic stabilizing wheels near the wing edges also contribute to accurate seed placement.

The machine folds to a compact 3m width and 4m height for road transport, making it suitable for legal voyages on UK roads. The disc coulters feature angled undercut discs, adjustable closing wheels, and optional row cleaners to prevent trash build-up.

Seed is distributed from a 5,700-litre main hopper with a split of 60/40, allowing for dual product application. Additional applicators can be added for small seeds, granules, and different fertilizer systems.

All models come with rear-mounted 750mm flotation tires and various attachment options, including a towing eye, Cat 3 two-point linkage, and Cat 4 ball hitch. The drills are available for spring delivery, with guide prices for models with 20cm spacings ranging from £146,000 for a 7.5m drill to £158,000 for a 9m drill.
