2023 Agricultural Unmanned Ground Vehicle Competition

In the final of the competition, participants are expected to autonomously navigate through a course resembling agricultural land, using unmanned ground vehicles to aerate the soil between plant rows to a depth of 5 centimeters without damaging existing crops. They must also be capable of identifying foreign weeds.

This competition aims to enhance efficiency in agriculture through ground-moving robots and to encourage the greater use of autonomous vehicles in this field. The contest will conclude on August 30, with cash prizes of 100,000, 80,000, and 60,000 Turkish Lira for the first, second, and third place teams, respectively.

A Perfect Opportunity Before Entering the Business World

Erkam Tüzgen, General Manager of Bilişim Vadisi, highlighted that TEKNOFEST helps students develop their projects before stepping into the corporate world. He added, “Agricultural technologies are among the oldest technologies invented by humanity. For thousands of years, research has been conducted on how to achieve better and more efficient farming. With the industrial revolution, this process gained momentum, and today, efforts to reduce human dependency with autonomous technologies in agriculture continue. As long as humanity exists, the need for agriculture will persist. We support the development of technologies in this field to meet this need in the most efficient, high-quality, and natural ways. TEKNOFEST is not only a competition for today but also for the future.”
