In the Erbaa district, a farmer named Cihan Aydın decided to distribute 500 tons of onions for free to the community after he was unable to sell his produce. Aydın, who has been involved in agriculture, cultivated onions on 65 acres this year. However, due to market difficulties, he could not sell his products and needed to prepare his fields for the new season. Rather than letting his produce go to waste, he opted to give it away to those in need.
Aydın stated, “We work on nearly 300 acres. Due to market challenges, our products couldn’t be sold. Instead of letting them rot in the soil, we’re distributing them for free to citizens in need.” Following a social media announcement, he confirmed that he would distribute the 500 tons of onions based on incoming requests. Aydın encouraged community members to come and take the onions, saying, “Citizens should come and take what they need for free by picking the onions from the field.”
