The Ministry of Trade has decided to support cooperatives by providing grants for the purchase of goods and services. The amount of the grant will be determined based on the socio-economic development rankings of the provinces. In provinces ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 50% of the project cost will be covered as a grant. In provinces ranked 4th, 5th, and 6th, this rate will be increased to 75%.
Cooperatives that receive grants will not be able to apply for additional grants for the same project within five years. However, if it becomes impossible to carry out the project due to force majeure, this rule will be exempted. In cases of force majeure affecting the project, the contract may be modified, suspended, or terminated with input from the relevant authority. The received grant amount will not be reclaimed.
This new regulation will allow grants to be distributed according to the socio-economic development rankings of the provinces starting from January 1, 2025. Other related rules will take effect immediately.
