Aydın, known for producing the world’s highest quality figs, plays a significant role in dried fig production. The Aegean Region has achieved remarkable success in dried fruit exports, particularly with seedless dried grapes, dried figs, and dried apricots. The Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters’ Association (EKMİB) has reported a substantial increase in exports in the first half of 2024, surpassing the annual threshold of 1 billion dollars for the first time in its history. This success is largely attributed to a 30% increase in the average Export price of dried fruit products. Over the past year, EKMİB increased its exports from 872 million dollars to 1 billion 31 million dollars, marking an 18% growth.
