The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, announced a new action plan to combat food fraud and counterfeit products. The previous system for announcing food fraud detection to the public was lengthy and complicated. However, with the new system, this process will now be managed more quickly and transparently.

Yumaklı stated that information about counterfeit and fraudulent foods will be shared with consumers in real-time through an electronic platform. This information will be made available to consumers transparently via a Reliable Food platform. Additionally, it was announced that the previous system’s lists will now be published as a single list.

Citizens will be able to access information about food items that pose health risks, as well as counterfeit and fraudulent products, through the Reliable Food platform. Minister Yumaklı also encouraged consumers to become more involved in the process and thanked everyone who has shown dedication to this cause.

Yumaklı revealed that 16,000 irregularities were detected during inspections conducted last year, and necessary administrative actions were taken. Irregular products were withdrawn from the market, and criminal complaints were filed with prosecutors in cases where legal violations occurred.

In conclusion, a more effective and transparent process has been initiated in the fight against food fraud and counterfeit products. Consumers will be able to access this information in real-time via the Reliable Food platform, enabling them to make safer food choices.
