First Dried Fig of the Season Celebrated with Ceremony at Aydın Commodity Exchange
In Aydın, the most important center for Turkey’s dried fig production, the first product of the season was purchased for 700 Turkish Lira. The Aydın Commodity Exchange continues to support the city’s 16,000 farmers. Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat stated that they are providing assistance to producers and traders at every stage, from production to marketing. Aydın Commodity Exchange President Fevzi Çondur mentioned that despite the high quality of this season’s figs, a decrease in yield is expected due to weather conditions.
